王韬是中国近代史上著名的史学家，史学界对此早有定评。以往，史学界对王韬史学的解部侧重于有代表性的史著、历史观和史学思想，忽视了从文化视角透视王韬史学产生的时代背景。本文结合王韬所处的“三千年未有之历史大变局”时代，着重论述“由睁眼看世界到走向世界”思潮决定了其史著的世界史意识；同时，本文阐述了王韬的多元历史观，以说明时代条件的影响。
