Lenin once pointed out: “The issue of the state is the major fundamental issue that relates to all politics.” 1 In the course of leading China’s socialist modernization drive, Comrade Deng Xiaoping has many important developments in theory and practice in Marxist state theory. This article discusses his important development of Marxist theory of state only in his theory of state function and structure of country in order to teach his colleagues. ?
