三寸金莲是缠足的俗称,也叫裹脚。是中国古代女性为了迎合男性的审美需求以及当时的女性审美标准而进行的人为的形体改变——缠足。从始至终缠足文化在中国有着千余年的影响,其意识已经深深的植入人们的思想观念。可以考据的缠足是从南唐开始的,流入闽南是在宋代。缠足的出现不仅仅是我国古代社会的封建男权思想体现,更是与当时的男性审美有着密切的关联。某种角度上,三寸金莲的盛行和发展是依托男性的性审美来进行的“美化”的人体行为。毋庸置疑,这是一种病态是审美倾向,对其考察研究,可以窥见一个男权时代下,性审美的某些表征。
