根据国际钢铁协会和经济合作与发展组织的予测,1985年在世界范围内电炉钢的比例将达到30%。我国1979年电炉钢的比例为20.9%,可见我国电炉钢的比例并不低,但是我国的电炉装备水平和技术水平比较差,热能消耗也很大。1970年我国电炉的平均电耗为696度,1980年下降到646度。虽然十年间下降了50度,但是仍比国外先进水平的电耗高150度以上。下图为我国和日本的吨钢电耗比较。
