The AN / AAR-54 (V) passive missile warning system, developed by Westinghouse Electronics, successfully detected the launched missile during a live-fire demonstration by the U.S. Navy. The AAR-54 (V) was installed on a QF-4 target aircraft on the Navy during a two-day trial at the Lake China Test Site in California. The aircraft was also equipped with a computer associated with the mission and the ALE-47 confrontation release system. During the flight of the target aircraft, a total of 14 missiles were fired at the target aircraft. Under the Navy electronic warfare advanced
