Taking the chemical engineering of the University of Western Australia and China University of Mining and Technology as an example, this paper compares in detail the similarities and differences between the programs of chemical engineering in the two universities in terms of training objectives, curricula, courses, modules and credit requirements. In combination with China University of Mining and Technology The suggestions on the reform of the profession are actually put forward. Specifically, the specialty of chemical industry should maintain the characteristics of coal chemical industry, increase the employment direction and expand the employment face of students. Pilot programs should be streamlined to avoid repetition of teaching contents between courses. Basic courses such as mathematics, physics and computer should be added Teaching hours credit, compression of elective courses to encourage students to cross-disciplinary elective basic courses, expanding the knowledge of students, so as to cultivate a solid foundation, adaptability, complex new type of engineering and technical personnel.
