对于戏曲,我是外行,京剧自然也并不例外;但对于周信芳同志这个人,以及他所演出的戏,却是并不陌生的。因为我是一个老上海,住在上海已达三十年之久;而且是在文艺界中活动的人,对于像周信芳同志那样长时期在上海演出的名演員,不能不有所接触。自然,在开始的时期里,我还没有接触到他这个人。只是接触到他所演出的戏。接触到他所演的戏,自然也还是不太頻繁的,更多的却是听到用他的腔調所唱的戏,看到用他的架势所演的戏:这不但在唱片里,在舞台上,还經常在深夜的馬路上听到唱麒調,在儿童的游戏中看到演麒戏。就是由于这些原因,我对于周信芳同志的麒調和麒戏,也就更加熟悉起来,而且喜爱起来了。
