Internet软件公司SunSoft开始发售Solstice~(TM)Internet MailServer1.0~(TM)。它是第一个基于IMAP4(Internet信息存取协议4)的Internet邮件服务器软件,旨在Internet上提供先进的移动和可互操作性邮件支持。Solstice Internet Mail Server1.0用户只要拨入当地Internet服务供应商,就可在世界上任何一地(办公室、饭店、机场和客户机所在地或他们需要存取电子邮件的哪一个地方)存取电子邮件。这在今天使用Lotus cc:Mail、Microsoft Mail或Mi-crosoft Exchange等专有邮件系统是不可能做到的。
Internet software company SunSoft began selling Solstice ~ (TM) Internet MailServer1.0 ~ (TM). It is the first Internet mail server software based on IMAP4 (Internet Information Access Protocol 4) to provide advanced mobile and interoperable mail support on the Internet. Solstice Internet Mail Server 1.0 users can access e-mail anywhere in the world (where offices, restaurants, airports and clients are located or where they need access to e-mail) simply by dialing into a local Internet service provider . This is not possible with today’s proprietary mail systems such as Lotus cc: Mail, Microsoft Mail, or Microsoft Exchange.
