寻甸回族彝族自治县位于滇东北,东临曲靖、马龙,南连嵩明,西和富民、禄劝相依,北与东川、会泽接壤。全县从东到西纵横80余公里,由南至北绵延60余公里,处于昆明、曲靖、东川三市的中心地带。全县总面积为3598平方公里,山地面积占87%,耕地面积57万亩,人均占有耕地1.32亩。其中万亩以上的坝子有5个,千亩以上的坝子有10个。境内海拔在1480米～3294米之间,气候为北亚热带季风气候,夏秋多雨,冬春干旱。全县有11个乡6个镇,县城所在地仁德镇是全县政治、经济和文化中心。总人口为431769人,其中回族48909人,占11.33%;彝族37770人,占8.7%。少数民族占总人口的21.28%,是云南省回族人口最多的县,同时也是全省28个民族自治县和41个贫困县之一。
Xundian Hui Autonomous County is located in the northeast of Yunnan, east of Qujing, Malone, south of Songming, West and Fumin, Lu advised dependencies, North and Dongchuan, Huize border. The county a total area of 3598 square kilometers, 87% of the mountain area, 570000 acres of arable land, the per capita arable land 1.32 acres. Among them, there are 5 bazi above mu, 10 bazi above a thousand mu. The territory of the elevation of 1480 meters ~ 3294 meters, the climate is the northern subtropical monsoon climate, summer and rainy, winter and spring drought. The county has 11 townships six towns, where the county town of Rende is the county’s political, economic and cultural center. The total population is 431,769, of which 48,909 Hui people, accounting for 11.33%; 37,770 Yi people, accounting for 8.7%. Ethnic minorities, accounting for 21.28% of the total population, are the most populous county of Hui people in Yunnan Province and are also one of the 28 ethnic autonomous counties and 41 poor counties in the province.
