1974年,法国国有铁路的货运量为2.66亿吨,货物周转量为771亿吨公里。在全部铁路货车中,国有铁路的货车占71%,企业私有的货车占29%。在国有铁路货车中,专用车的比重1965年为10%,1975年为20%;转向架货车1965年占12%,1977年初已达98,652辆,占35%。国际铁路联盟规定货物列车有三种速度级,普通级80公里/小时,S级100公里/小时,SS级120公里/小时。近十年来所制造的货车至少都达到了S级。普通级的旧型车仅占货车总数的10%。SS级货车的比重则在逐步上升。
In 1974, the French state-owned railways carried 266 million tons of cargo and delivered 77.1 billion tons of cargo. Among all railway wagons, 71% are owned by state-owned railways and 29% by privately owned trucks. In the state-owned railway wagons, the share of special purpose vehicles was 10% in 1965 and 20% in 1975; bogie trucks accounted for 12% in 1965 and reached 98,652 in early 1977, accounting for 35% of the total. The International Union of Railways provides for cargo trains in three speed classes, 80 km / h in general, 100 km / h in S and 120 km / h for SS. The trucks built in the last decade have at least reached the S-class. Ordinary old cars only account for 10% of the total number of trucks. The proportion of SS-class trucks is gradually increased.
