身体训练是指运用各种身体练习的方法与手段,全面提高与改善运动员的形态、机能、健康和素质水平的训练过程。身体训练的主要内容是提高身体素质水平,它是高度竞技能力的决定性前提,是高速度提高运动技术水平的基础。多年来,少年儿童武术训练实践证明.只通过身体训练来提高运动成绩是远远不够的,还必须进行一些专门训练加以补充.才能促进专项运动技术水平的迅速提高。大家在武术专项训练中已总结出一套比较系统的基础功练习方法.如:
