OBJECTIVE: To provide morphological evidence that CD2 2 6 is involved in endothelial cell adhesion. Methods: Human umbilical vein endothelial cells were cultured in vitro. The fusion protein CD2 2 6 Ig was added. The effect of CD2 26 molecules on the adhesion of activated endothelial cells to activated PBMCs was observed by inverted microscope and scanning electron microscopy. Results: The fusion protein CD2 2 6 / Ig significantly reduced the adhesion between activated endothelial cells and activated PBMCs. Conclusion: CD2 26 molecule is a new adhesion molecule on the surface of activated endothelial cells, which may have important physiological and pathological functions
