元郭松年《大理行记》,曾记述考察所见大理民风说:“其俗多尚浮屠法,家无贫富,皆有佛堂,人不以老壮,手不释数珠,一岁之间,斋戒几半,绝不茹荤饮酒,至斋毕乃已。”此记载大理佛教盛行的史料,为研究云南佛教者广泛征引。但历史上南诏大理政权境内,道教也有一定程度的传播影响,本文特对此进行粗略的探微研讨,以期揭示南诏大理道教的实况。一、南诏政权时期道教的传播早在南诏政权建立之前,道教就已在西南夷地区传播。仙人杨波远的神异事迹,在滇国苍洱间颇具影响。明谢肇淛《滇略》卷十说:
