Dig-labeled cDNA probes were used to detect the C-myc and Ha-ras oncogene mRNA in 5l bladder transitional cell carcinoma paraffin sections. The results showed that the positive rate of C-mycmRNA was 62.75% (32/51) and Ha-ras was 70.6% (36/51). Both the positive rate and positive intensity increased with the malignant degree of the tumor. The positive rate of the two in the higher clinical stage tumors was also significantly higher. The above results revealed that the enhanced expression of C-myc and Ha-ras oncogenes in human bladder transitional cell carcinoma is related to the malignant degree of bladder cancer and the biological behavior of the tumor, both of which are valuable in judging the malignancy and prognosis of the bladder cancer Indicators provide meaningful assistance in developing a rational treatment plan.
