It is well-known that Edward Said is one of the most important critics of the United States currently alive. Native of Palestine, after high school to the United States to study, received a PhD from Harvard University, to teach the United States, settled in the United States. Now a professor at Columbia University, the last president of North American Modern Languages Association. He is the founder of postcolonial theory, and his “Orientalism” and “culture and imperialism” have far-reaching effects. Other writings are also widely influential in literary criticism.
