Cancer Cachexia (CC) is a syndrome associated with the progress of patients with cancer, especially in advanced cancer patients. It is characterized by abnormal metabolism of proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates. Its clinical manifestations are loss of appetite and extreme weight loss. With anaemia, asthenia, and failure, cancer mortality can rise by nearly 50%. Although people have studied this for a long time, there is no clear explanation yet. Although anorexia is often associated with the development of cancer cachexia, the decline in food intake alone does not completely explain all of its phenomena. At the same time, clinical nutrition support and treatment have not achieved significant success. Therefore, the discussion on the mechanism of cancer cachexia formation can be further studied. Clinical treatment provides ideas and methods. This article refers to the relevant literature. It is intended to review and analyze the role of cytokines and circulating hormones in the formation of cancer cachexia as follows.
