湖北省恩施鱼塘坝洼地硒源于西被山腰被森林遮盖而出露表现的石煤。当森林在1958年被砍伐之后,先逢干旱,后又多雨,使得石煤风化加剧,水溶性硒迅速向洼地迁移,洼地生长了极高硒植物,从而导致了1963年硒中毒暴发。鱼塘坝暴发硒中毒是人文地理因素和自然地理因素叠加作用的结果。
Sequoia fish pond dam in Enshi, Hubei Province, was sourced from stone coal that was exposed by the forest in the west by the mountainside. When the forests were cut down in 1958, drought and later rain started to make the weathering of stone coal worse. The water-soluble selenium rapidly migrated to the depressions and the high-selenium plants grew in the depressions, resulting in the outbreak of selenosis in 1963. Outbreak of fish pond dam selenium poisoning is the result of the superimposition of human geography and natural and geographical factors.
