老子(约公元前571年-前471年),原名李耳,字聃,又称老聃。河南鹿邑人。他是我国古代伟大的思想家和哲学家,道家创始人。他唯一的著作《老子》,又称《道德经》。老子的学说深刻影响着中国哲学的发展。有一位学者曾问几个小学生:“你们知道老子吗?”沉默许久,一个男孩说:“老子就是爸爸。因为爸爸经常说,你不听话,老子揍你。”这个笑话,说明同学们对老子还很陌生。老子是我国两千多年前的一位文化巨人。有同学可能会问:“老子姓李,应该叫李子才对,怎么叫老子呢?”这还得从老子的出生说起。
