可持续发展是一种全新的发展观,是人类对世界认识的重大突破,也是当代中国自身发展需要的必然选择。党的十六届三中全会提出“树立全面、协调、可持续的科学发展观”,反映了我们党对经济社会发展规律的认识有了新的飞跃——从单纯以经济增长为目标的经济建设为中心,向经济、社会、环境资源的综合发展转变;从以物为本的发展,向以人为核心的全面可持续的发展转变。这对于全面推进小康社会建设和整个现代化建设具有全局性和长远性的指导意义。社会的可持续发展,要求教育承担起培养具有可持续发展意识与能力的未来公民的任务。从这个意义来说,可持续发展教育能力是中小学教师专业发展的重要标志之一。
Sustainable development is a completely new concept of development, a major breakthrough in human understanding of the world and an inevitable choice for China’s own development. The Third Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee puts forward the concept of “establishing a comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable scientific concept of development”, which reflects our party’s new leap in understanding of the law of economic and social development - from an economy that aims at economic growth alone Construction as the center, to the comprehensive development of economic, social and environmental resources; from the development of materialism to the all-round and sustainable development with people as the core. This has the overall and long-term guiding significance for comprehensively promoting the construction of a well-off society and the entire modernization. The sustainable development of society requires education to assume the task of cultivating future citizens who have the awareness and ability for sustainable development. In this sense, the ability of education for sustainable development is an important symbol of the professional development of primary and secondary school teachers.
