Malignant fibrous histiocytomas are not uncommon in soft tissue malignancies, but rare in vocal folds. An example of malignant fibrous histiocytoma that occurs below the glottis is reported below. A 53-year-old man presented with a hoarse voice after having a cold drink five months ago. At the time, he was diagnosed with acute laryngitis at a local state-level hospital and was given anti-inflammatory treatment.
