Based on the two core concepts of “delimitation” and “idyllic idealism” in feminist criticism and cultural criticism, this article explains the internal and external causes of Hellman drama ’s “Aphasia ” in the South of the United States. Through the analysis of the two scripts of Hellman’s representative works “Little Fox” and “Another Place in the Forest”, the author thinks Hellman is not only a feminist playwright, but also a culture with a high degree of historical sense and morality critic. Hegelman’s discussion of the topic “Aphasia” in the South of the United States shows Hegelman’s profound thinking on the dialectical relationship between politics, economy, gender and discourse in the specific historical period of American society. Hellman’s plays provide a more comprehensive and truthful understanding of the culture of Southern American society after the outbreak of the Civil War, providing a rare literary text reference.
