中国书画是学养的艺术。是靠作者的“学”“养”出来的。学养包括专业内与专业外两方面。从事一门学科首先要具备专业修养。作为书画家,第一方面(专业内)要具备的学养就是对书画史论的掌握。熟谙书画史,知道书画发展的正变,掌握其中的规律。只有了解历史才能找到创新的途径,才不盲目。另一方面(专业外)的学养则包括人的襟抱、阅历、知识、眼界、性情等等。襟抱能决定一个人作品境界的高低。心胸宽广之人,作品方能大气。阅历与见识会提高眼光,分辨美丑。知识面广可以做到举一反三,触类旁通。
Chinese calligraphy and painting is the art of learning. It depends on the author’s “learning ” “raising ” out. Academic support includes both professional and professional outside. Engaged in a discipline must first have a professional accomplishment. As a calligrapher, the first aspect (professional) to have the schooling is the mastery of history of calligraphy and painting. Familiar with the history of calligraphy and painting, painting and calligraphy know the development is changing, to grasp the laws. Only by understanding history can we find ways to innovate without blindness. On the other hand (outside the professional) of the school, including people’s lapel, experience, knowledge, vision, temperament and so on. Cloze can determine the level of a person’s work. Broad-minded people, works can only the atmosphere. Experience and insight will improve vision, distinguish beauty and ugliness. A wide range of knowledge can be learned from all walks of life, by analogy.
