From 1950 to 1952, the Kuomintang changed the orientation of its original “revolutionary party” to “revolutionary democracy party” in Taiwan’s party reformation movement, which is a party that possesses both the characteristics of “revolution” and “democracy.” He repeatedly stressed the need to “safeguard the democratic system with revolutionary organization and revolutionary spirit.” This “revolution” is different from Sun Yat-sen’s national revolution that overthrows imperialism and feudal warlords. Instead, it calls for mobilizing party members, enhancing cohesion and establishing a unified leadership authority through “mobilization of chaos” and “anti-communism and anti-Russia.”
