The odd and even mode propagation constants of uniformly coupled trapped image waveguidesare calculated by using the methods of the effective dielectric constant and surface impedance match-ing. Theoretical characteristics of a coupler made of coupled trapped image waveguides are ana-lyzed and they can be used as a foundation for the design of this kind of coupler.
