朝鲜杜鹃(Rhododendronyedoense)俗称“金达莱”。落叶灌水,高1～2米,多分枝,嫩枝密被褐色刚毛。春发叶长椭圆形,夏叶倒披针形。顶生混合芽,芽鳞腺点分泌粘液;每芽具2～3朵花,花叶同放。花期4月下旬到5月中旬。花冠漏斗状,先端5裂,径5～6厘米。雄蕊全部瓣化,雌蕊变态。盛花时紫色重瓣花开成丛,云蒸霞蔚煞为壮观。
