周星驰执导的《美人鱼》与美国著名作家赫尔曼·梅尔维尔的小说《白鲸》,虽然都以人与自然的关系为主题,但两者无论是在表现形式,还是在故事情节设定上,都突显了中西方思维方式的差异。笔者将从整体性认识与分离性认识、集体主义意识与个体主义意识、等级差异观念与人人平等观念、感性型思维与理性型思维等四个方面浅析两部电影中所体现的中西方思维方式差异,以期能全面、客观地理解两种文化,有利于中西方更好地交流。
