This article chooses Plato’s and Confucius’s aesthetic comparison of filial piety. By showing the relationship between Plato and Confucius on the relationship between ethics and aesthetics, it is concluded that the difference between the two is due to aesthetic differences. Plato neglected the aesthetic elements of ethics, while Confucius attached great importance to the aesthetic elements of ethics. It proves that comparative aesthetics can help ethical research. This article is divided into four parts, the first is the introduction, explains the reasons for the selection of the issue. First, the theme of the relationship between aesthetics and ethics can be highlighted and general and unique conclusions can be drawn about the traditional values of East and West. The second reason is the surprising consistency between Plato and Confucius. Both are not only concerned with aesthetics in their doctrine, but are also concerned with the relationship between aesthetics and ethics. In addition, Plato’s “Socratic Dialogue” and Confucius “Analects” have passed away throughout the ages. They all expressed their own philosophical exploration in ethical personality. Secondly, it discusses Plato’s view of filial piety. Plato considered the aesthetic qualities of filial piety as unimportant, and encouraged Filial Piety simply because it reflected the demands of justice. Once again discusses the Confucian concept of filial piety. Confucius did not think it necessary to separate the aesthetic and morality of filial piety. Devout and face with a suitable expression, the combination of the two constitute the virtues of the perfect. Concluded the conclusion. It is an aesthetic disagreement to disagree between Plato and Confucius on the conceptual elucidation. Plato believed that moral behavior must be ugly, so he ignored the appearance, that is, the aesthetics of virtue. Confucius, on the other hand, considered moral behavior as elegant and filial piety as a crucial component of her. Therefore, she emphasized aesthetics and considered the mode of behavior as an essential part of her behavior.
