随着网络性能和容量的飞速发展,网络处理器的设计开发必须着眼于网络高速的需求。本文分析了当前网络处理器的结构特别是IBM网络处理器的结构,针对T比特路由器的需求,考虑网络行为的特点,将时空局部性原理应用于网络处理器设计,利用表cache技术和多体交叉存储器技术来改进网络处理器的设计,并提出一种跳跃式查表方法,提高网络处理器的线速处理能力。
With the rapid development of network performance and capacity, the design and development of network processor must focus on the needs of high-speed network. This paper analyzes the structure of the current network processor, especially the structure of the IBM network processor. According to the demand of the T-bit router and considering the characteristics of the network behavior, the spatio-temporal locality principle is applied to the network processor design. The table cache technology and multi-body Cross memory technology to improve the design of network processor, and proposed a jump table lookup method to improve the network processor wire-speed processing capabilities.
