成长小说是英美文学中一种十分重要的类型和分支。在《黑色唱片》中,哈尼夫·库雷西一方面继承了成长小说的传统写作技巧;另一方面描绘了当代亚裔移民所面临的生存困境和探寻走出这一困境的出路。小说通过主人公沙希德成长过程中面临的焦虑、摆脱这一焦虑的出路等方面的描写,出色地表现了当代英国亚裔青少年在多元文化语境下中所面临的困境,同时也提出了要勇敢地跨越各种人为藩篱,建构自己的“第三空间”的建议。
Growing novels is a very important type and branch of Anglo-American literature.
