“The economic growth under the condition that the physical impact does not increase ” is still an open question. This situation is clearly theoretically possible, yet this has not been observed in practice. The “limit of growth” has not managed to solve this problem. The authors of the book also disagree on the issue of whether economic growth may be completely separated from the growing physical impact. However, the authors do agree that the global community should reduce its ecological footprint per unit of consumption, and more importantly, in order to avoid global extremism, the global community should do so in a timely manner. If humankind is no longer obsessed with growth, including population and economic growth, the task of avoiding the world’s excesses will be much simpler.
