Molecular chaperones are a class of proteins that are widely distributed in prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells to assist in the correct folding and non-covalent assembly of new peptide chains. Gp96 (a molecular chaperone) from different clonal mouse sarcoma cells can establish a specific cellular immune response between different clones of mice. Some molecular chaperones such as HSP70 can be presented as antigen-presenting molecules. The surface of tumor cells can act as a target antigen on the surface of tumor cells to activate anti-tumor cellular immunity. In summary, molecular chaperones or polypeptide complexes that bind to molecular chaperones can be developed into tumor vaccines for treatment due to their ability to exceed the limits of MHC class I antigen molecules.
