The carnivalization of literature and its duality discovered by the Soviet scholar Bakhtin, known as major discoveries in the field of world literature and thought, have caused a sensation in the West. British writer David Lodge itself is a literary theorist, he has in-depth study of Bakhtin’s poetics theory, and its systematic application to literary creation, was an academic school. Joseph Heller is one of the classic writers in the United States since the 1960s. His works are surreal and black and humorous. The carnivalization of literature involves quite a wide range. Both writers are the leaders of Anglo-American literary circles. Therefore, based on Bakhtin’s poetic theory and its ontology, two works can be read and the basic characteristics of the revelry literature can be seen.
