In order to study the impact of the main watercourses such as the Malacca Strait, the Suez Canal and the Panama Canal on the global container shipping network, based on the statistics of the global container liner routes and the ports of call, the networks of the shipping networks under the three main waterway interruptions are respectively calculated Average degree, proportion of isolated nodes, clustering coefficient, average distance of networks and network efficiency. Combined with geographical characteristics, this paper analyzes the influence of above-mentioned conditions on China’s container shipping. The research shows that the global container shipping network is very sensitive to the smoothness of the three main waterways, the most influential is the Strait of Malacca, followed by the Suez Canal. When the three major shipping lanes are attacked, the network distance between China’s ports and other international ports In varying degrees of increase, the network efficiency dropped significantly. In order to maintain the smooth transportation between China’s ports and other ports around the world, alternative routes are discussed and corresponding countermeasures are put forward from the perspective of ensuring maritime security.
