In the past two years, Beijing has made the best progress in its work on urban accessibility. After years of hard work, Beijing has set up some barrier-free facilities such as ramps and blind roads during the process of rebuilding some of the newly-built large-scale public facilities and urban roads, facilitating the travel of handicapped people to some extent. However, if we look at Beijing from the perspective of a modern, cosmopolitan city, the construction of barrier-free facilities in Beijing is still not systematic, normative, and some are not practical, and there is still no barrier-free accessibility for people with disabilities.
