到本世纪末,新的舰种“航天母舰”将出现在海洋上,为卫星升空新辟一扇“天窗”。航天母舰并非战舰,而是载着运输火箭到海洋上去发射的海上流运发射场。在海洋上发射试验动载火箭不仅安全,而且在赤道地区的“黄金水域”顺势发射运载火箭可以获得地球最大自转速度的功能。用同一枚运输火箭,在赤道上(零度纬度)送上天的卫星要比在美国卡纳维拉尔角(北纬28.5度)发射的重15%,这是因为得到赤道上地球自转产生的额外推力。怎样将运载火箭由陆地迁往海上去发射呢?制造航天母舰是最理想的方案。与航空母舰相比,航天母舰不需要大型飞机库和飞行甲板,以及为飞机起落配套的辅助设施,所需要的是火箭贮存、组装、维护舱,以及外设的火箭发射 By the end of this century, the new ship “Space Carrier” will appear on the ocean and will open up a new “skylight” for satellite launching.
