宿根系黄熟时至少有三片绿叶,收获后便可再生新苗。十月初至十一月底温度逐渐下降,适合宿根稻再生苗积累过冬养份。低温是宿根稻过冬的关键因素。优良宿根系4020和41582耐寒耐旱性强,宿根性很好。月均温5~10℃时,根状茎和芽停止生长进入冬眠。春季温度升至15℃时,根状茎萌发生出新苗,新苗生白根。完全不感光宿根系在夏季同一个植株上呈现幼穗分化、抽穗和穗黄熟三期同步性。感光型和弱感光型宿根稻有和其原生稻株(直接由种子长出)完全相同的营养生长和生殖生长期。
