The International Year of Ecotourism shows that the United Nations recognizes the social and economic importance of ecotourism and that the UN General Assembly hopes that governments and the international community will take note of the potential impact of ecotourism on the natural environment, the conservation of biodiversity and the local social and cultural fabric (Positive and negative). The World Tourism Organization (WTO) is working with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), other international and regional agencies and their member states. Members work with other groups to coordinate a series of activities - preparation for the International Year of Ecotourism (IYE) and activities during the International Year of Ecotourism. Ecotourism is a recently adopted concept that explains many of them, some of which are more precise than others and on the occasion of the International Year of Ecotourism, the World Tourism Organization and other partners agree that the concept of ecotourism reflects “meeting the following Conditions of all forms of tourism: the main motivation of tourists is to watch and enjoy nature, this watch and appreciate helps to protect the natural environment and cultural heritage, have the least impact on them. ”
