本文以中国及邻区石炭系材料为主体,在进行地层和生物时代对比的基础上,概括和发现生物高低纬度间最低层位变化、演化和环境变迁相联系的一些现象;结合中生代以后生物迁移与环境变迁相联系的一些例证,推测石炭纪生物迁移的趋势;并相应对生物迁移与环境、生物迁移与演化的关系、生物迁移的研究途径、生物空间分布的不同时性、石炭纪一些生物的起源地以及划分广相生物与狭相生物的意义等有关问题作了简要的讨论。
