2010年5月26日,中国科学院青岛生物能源与过程研究所(青能所)与美国波音公司研发中心共同签署了推进藻类可持续航空生物燃料合作备忘录,将在青岛组建可持续航空生物燃料联合实验室,启动微藻航空生物燃油这一能源技术的大规模研发。青能所表示,预计5年左右实现关键技术重大突破,形成几千吨的规模性示范,10年左右实现产业化。青能所与美国波音公司合作推进的藻类可持续航空
On May 26, 2010, the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process Research (Green Energy Institute), Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Boeing Company R & D Center of the United States jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting a Sustainable Aviation Biofuel Algae, which will jointly set up a joint aviation biofuels joint venture in Qingdao Laboratory, started the micro-algae aviation bio-fuels on the large-scale development of energy technologies.
