Congenital hypothyroidism (CH, referred to as hypothyroidism) is mainly due to congenital factors leading to thyroid hormone synthesis disorders and decreased secretion, causing the children after birth, thyroid hormone levels, permanent or temporary reduction and thyroid stimulating hormone after birth (TSH) level of a common pediatric endocrine disease. With the social and economic development, improvement of people’s living standards and improvement of medical conditions, the detection rate of CH children is obviously higher. In recent years, China screened 5.8 million newborns, with a CH prevalence of 1/3009, a figure that is still increasing year by year. Decreased levels of thyroid hormone affect children’s intellectual development and multiple organ function, seriously endangering the healthy growth of children, which has aroused widespread concern.
