Therapeutic drug monitoring is an effective monitoring method that has emerged in clinical drug treatment for more than a decade. The routine monitoring of certain drugs abroad has become a part of clinical medical standards. In medical oncology, there are few therapeutic drug monitoring applications and it is limited to the detection of drug concentrations to indicate toxicity in high-dose methotrexate treatment. 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) is a commonly used drug for the treatment of many kinds of tumors, and high-dose 5-FU constant rate intravenous infusion therapy for trophoblastic tumor has achieved better results. However, the current understanding of the pharmacokinetics of 5-FU in the body is still not enough. The research data on clinical pharmacokinetics at home and abroad are quite different, and some patients are unable to respond to toxicity and drug resistance.
