1.作曲家中,用自己或别的作曲家的姓名作为主题发展成为一首乐曲者不乏其例。其中最早以自己的姓作为乐曲主题的要首推巴赫了。组成他的姓(BACH)的四个字母相当于~bB,A、C、B四个音名(德国音名体系中的第七音用“H”,称为硬B;而“B”则相对“~bB”,称为软B)。巴赫将此四个音名用作主题,称为“巴赫主题”,最早用于他自己的“赋格技艺”(Art of Fugue)中的最后一首赋格(未完成):

One of the earliest to use his own surname as the subject of music to be the first to give Bach. The four letters that make up his last name (BACH) are equivalent to the four-note names of ~ bB, A, C, and B (the seventh sound of the German phonetic system, called “H,” is called hard B; Relative to “~ bB”, called soft B). Bach used these four names as the theme, called “Bach’s Theme,” and was first used for the fugitive (unfinished) final in his own “Art of Fugue”:
