大学英语教师自我发展指的是大学英语教师在英语水平、语言理论以及英语教学技能等方面所进行的自主的学习、反思和研究的过程。就目前状况而言,基于对大学英语教师的教学理念以及其科研状况等现状的调查显示,转型期大学英语教师队伍的建设迫在眉睫,实现大学英语教育体制的改革,促进科研和教育的齐头并进也是转型期教育改革前提下的必然需求。本文主要论述了转型期大学英语教师在岗位自我发展的必要性和紧迫性,同时,提出了大学英语教师在转型期自我发展方面应该做好的具体准备。在新的教育形式下,大学英语教师的自我定位及个人发展已经刻不容缓。最后还针对大学英语教师的个人发展提出了系列建议。
