中国是世界上最早发现、利用和栽培茶树的国家。茶区辽阔,茶树品种资源丰富,茶类花色品种繁多。劳动人民在长期的生产斗争和科学实验中实践、总结、创造和发展了绿茶、黄茶、黑茶、白茶、青茶和红茶等多种茶类的制法。尤其红茶制法的发展,是我国古老制茶技术的一个重大突破,有力地推动了我国和世界制茶技术的变革和发展。我国传统红茶以其隽永的香气,醇美的滋味和鲜艳明亮的汤色赢得世界广大地区人民的喜爱。著名的“星村小种”,“祁红工夫”载誉全球、畅销五洲,就是明证。
