17世纪,是科学革命走向全盛的黄金时代,伽利略、开普勒、笛卡尔、帕斯卡、波义耳、哈维、惠更斯、胡克、牛顿、莱布尼茨等人的名字彪炳史册,人类第一次能够用科学的方法认识我们所处的世界。彼时,中国正处于明末清初的乱世,但在耶稣会传教士东来的影响下,沿袭西学的风潮逐渐兴盛。上自大学士、巡抚级别的高官,下及芸芸士子,均不乏在这与中国传统学术大不相同的思潮中,关注起自然科学的人物,方以智就是其中之一。
The 17th century is the golden age where the scientific revolution went to its heyday. The names of Galileo, Kepler, Descartes, Pascal, Boyle, Harvey, Huygens, Hook, Newton, and Leibniz all kept their names in earth. For the first time, mankind can know the world we live in a scientific way. At that time, China was in troubled times in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. However, under the influence of the Jesuits missionaries eastward, the trend of following Western learning gradually flourished. On the Bachelor, senior governor-level officials, and Shi Yun Shi Zi, there is no shortage of this traditional Chinese academic and very different trend of thought, focusing on the natural sciences, Fang Yi Zhi is one of them.
