Advances in radiation physics and recent computer applications have resulted in a significant improvement in brachytherapy. The Micro-Selectron-HDR post-loading therapy machine from Nuclear Communications has enabled the use of high-activity miniature 192 I-r sources for X-rays, computer-controlled cases. Optimized processing technology is very advanced. However, so-called “prescription doses” are used clinically.
