向全IP网络迁移并不是业界的新话题,但近来几家运营商密集的动作似乎预示着新一波网络升级大潮的到来。进入7月以来,英国电信、法国电信、奥地利电信三家欧洲通信巨头先后透露了向IP网络迁移的相关消息。这似乎预示着模拟时代的大门正在缓缓关闭,是时候拥抱全IP时代了。英国主导运营商英国电信公司向监管机构Ofcom提出申请,希望获准关闭其传统固话网络,即模拟电话网(POTS),原因是现代网络同样能满足传统电话功能,不必再继续维持
The move to an all-IP network is not a new topic for the industry, but the recent intensive actions by several carriers appear to herald a wave of new wave of network upgrades.
