Cholestatic liver injury is a common clinical liver disease, mainly due to the imbalance of bile acid in the body caused by its pathogenesis and bile acid transporter, synthase and metabolic enzymes are directly related to the expression and function changes. Nuclear receptors play an important role in liver injury caused by cholestasis by regulating the expression of bile acid transporters and metabolic enzymes. The roles of hepatic transporters and metabolic enzymes in cholestatic liver injury and the regulatory mechanisms by which nuclear receptors regulate transporters and metabolic enzymes are reviewed.
