张洪沅教授是我国化工界、教育界的著名学者。1902年5月15日出生于四川省华阳县(现成都市双流县)。1916年考入清华留美预备班学习,1924年8月赴美国留学,先后在加州理工学院和麻省理工学院化学工程专业学习。1928年毕业于麻省理工学院,获硕士学位,任该院助理研究员。1930年夏获该校博士学位并晋升为副研究员。1931年秋回国,先后任中 Professor Zhang Hongyuan is a famous scholar in China’s chemical industry and education.
