华盛顿讯——美国正在把研制粒子束的力量集中到脉冲发生器与定向跟踪问题上,这两个问题均是组成武器系统的主要技术。 研究这些技术可以由使用市电工作的粒于束加速器和电容器组来完成,但是,电容器组体积很大,不能用于可移动的粒于束武器的装备中。现在的技术可以研制一种重复脉冲的交流发电机(repetition ratable alternators),它的体积和重量较小,而能提供很大的峰值功率。这些设备很小,可以作为舰上,飞机上和宇宙飞行器上的粒子束武器的能源。
WASHINGTON - The United States is focusing its research efforts on pulser and directional tracking, both of which are major technologies that make up weapon systems. Research on these technologies can be done with particle beam booster and capacitor banks that work with mains but the capacitor banks are bulky and can not be used with movable particle beam weapons. The current technology allows the development of a repetition ratable alternators, which are small in size and weight and offer a great peak power. These devices are small and can be used as an energy source for particle beam weapons on board ships, aircraft and space vehicles.
